Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in metallurgical engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience in Process/Metallurgical/Manufacturing Engineering in industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles as applied to conductor materials.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, project management, and engineering principles.

What You'll Do
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve product quality, productivity, yield, and cost efficiency.
  • Apply materials science and metallurgical principles to evaluate conductor materials, manufacturing methods, and product performance.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, reduce variation, and improve process capability.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support new product development, process validation, and successful production implementation.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects focused on operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, manufacturing procedures, technical specifications, and process standards.
  • Evaluate new equipment, technologies, raw materials, vendors, and manufacturing methods to improve operational performance.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation while meeting project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of materials science and metallurgical principles as they apply to conductor materials and wire manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, project management practices, and budget planning and administration.
  • Experience with process optimization, statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and implement effective operational improvements.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and coordinating multiple priorities.
  • Ability to evaluate equipment, manufacturing methods, vendors, and technical solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in copper, conductor, wire, cable, or metals manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and process capability analysis.
  • Experience leading capital projects or large-scale manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
