Process Engineer 3
Location: Promontory, Utah Plant. This position will support the Process Engineering team.
Relocation assistance: None. Clearance required for start: No. Clearance type: None. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
Role Description & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations
- Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes
- Support manufacturing operations, including composites manufacturing, machining, rubber layup and molding, chemical bonding, primers and coatings, and complex assemblies
- Act as first line of support and primary point of contact for operations personnel and process-related problems
- Perform cause and corrective action investigations to permanently eliminate defects using root cause analysis tools
- Work with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (engineering and planning documents)
- Author, update and review shop floor planning (work instructions)
- Prepare and present technical presentations to internal leadership and to customers for review and approval
- Perform reviews with operations team before and after parts are worked
- Monitor production events and utilize SPC tools to ensure process control
- Develop and incorporate process improvements
- Troubleshoot production/tooling/facility issues and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
- Support design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
Skills & Qualifications
- Self‑starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision
- Good problem‑solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and multi‑tasking skills
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Interpreting blueprints and specifications, GD&T standards
- Experience writing shop planning (preferred)
- Experience with 3D modeling software
- Experience working with composite materials (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- CAD skills preferred
- Statistical Process Controls (SPC)

Work Schedule
This position’s standard work schedule is a 4x10. The 4x10 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. degree in STEM (Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering) or related engineering degree with 2 years’ experience
- Experience writing shop planning (preferred)
- Experience with 3D modeling software
- Experience working with composite materials (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- CAD skills preferred
- Statistical Process Controls (SPC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NX and modeling
- Experience with rigging, bridge and mobile cranes
Salary Range
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 – $118,900.00. Base salary offers are based on scope, responsibilities and candidate experience, education, skills and merits. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus and long‑term incentives may be available.
