Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood is seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical expertise in developing and improving manufacturing processes. The role requires multi-tasking in a dynamic environment and involves cross-functional collaboration to meet plant goals.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements, supporting production and maintenance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and meet goals.
• Excellent analytical skills; statistical data analysis a plus.
• Strong PC skills: Windows, Word, Excel, data collection/analysis tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Lean/Six Sigma familiarity preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement process or product improvements in a manufacturing setting.
• Provide technical support to production, maintenance, engineering, and sales/marketing groups.
• Develop processes to maximize capacity, minimize cost, and ensure product performance.
• Write technical reports and present progress to peers.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to meet plant goals.
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement and Six Sigma projects.
• Maintain manufacturing practices to optimize quality.
• Support plant safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with management and workforce to drive continuous improvement.
