Job summary

Crane Resistoflex seeks a Process Engineer Intern to support production on the shop floor, troubleshoot daily issues, and perform root cause analysis to meet safety, quality and throughput targets. The role involves hands-on tooling/process changes, and driving cost-reduction projects from ideation to implementation.

Primary duties include designing improvements to processes, aiding safety and quality initiatives, and working within cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and sustain gains.

Qualifications

Position Summary

A process engineer intern at Crane Resistoflex is responsible for supporting production through daily trouble shooting and root cause analysis to ensure processes are safe, meet quality and throughput requirements and make the work easier for the operators. This requires hands on involvement and working on the shop floor. In addition to this support, they will be responsible for design and implementation of tooling and/or process changes to improve manufacturing processes. They will also own larger cost reduction projects from ideation, feasibility and design, Capital Expenditure approval, and implementation. Lead/Support quality improvement initiatives as per IATF 16949-2016 to achieve set sigma level for value stream. Guide production team on issue resolution using knowledge relevant to your department specialties.

• Develop and manage action plans for long term projects through completion.
• Research and develop high value cost saving opportunities and use data to project savings that justify any necessary capital expenditure.
• Participate in quality improvements as per IATF 16949 2016 ensure to complete toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process capability study for in house process
• Ensure requirements of relevant standards like ISO 9001-2015, PED 2014/68/EU, API Spec. Q1, API 6D, etc. are being consistently met and improved.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• In progress of achieving B.S. in Engineering or related degree.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Exposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.
• Proficient with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Demonstrated ability to understand process & product specifications.
• Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
• Working experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
