Applied Materials is seeking a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor technologies. The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and experience in plating, chemical analysis, and semiconductor processing. Travel and relocation are possible as part of this position.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in plating processes and chemical analysis in development or manufacturing is preferred.
• Background in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience in advanced packaging processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with chemical analysis tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of metrology equipment (AOI/AOS/CSAM/3D X-ray CT) and reliability tools is advantageous.
• Understanding of SPC methodologies and process control is beneficial.
• Proficiency in thin film characterization techniques (SEM/TEM/XRD/XPS/SIMS) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Complete the project and deliver a final product.
• Assist with automation wet process demonstrations and tool preparation.
• Support high-volume manufacturing tool setup and optimization of wet processes.
• Lead chemical analysis tool setup and chemical testing.
• Conduct electrochemical testing to evaluate impact on wet processes.
• Assist with Root Cause Analysis and deep-dive Failure Analysis.
• Support FA and reliability testing for high-volume manufacturing tools.
• Demonstrate both conceptual and practical knowledge in the discipline.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to drive improvements.
• Communicate findings and contribute to design and process decisions.
