JOB TITLE: Process Engineer II

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

REPORTS TO: Engineering NPI Manager/CTO

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the site Senior Process Engineer and NPI (New Product Introduction) Program Manager, the Process Engineer manages new products entering the facility. They determine the appropriate methodology for each part, develop or assign existing process specifications, and prepare or modify work instructions. For new development qualifications, they collaborate closely with the site Senior Engineer and EH&S to address safety concerns and minimize risks. The Process Engineer participates in recurring Global Engineering & Cross-functional Team meetings.

The Process Engineer works with customers to meet their expectations for new products, reviews, understands, and implements customer-supplied specifications aligned with internal processes. They also collaborate with third-party suppliers and vendors to develop equipment and tooling specifications.

The role includes training employees before transitioning products to regular production, ensuring proficiency in processing. The Process Engineer upholds safety and quality standards, supports company policies, and assists in quality investigations when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Supervise Engineering Technicians under the guidance of the site Sr. Engineer.
  2. Assess incoming products using customer documentation.
  3. Set up new process specifications for qualification jobs.
  4. Update legacy process specifications as needed.
  5. Design and implement efficiencies across departments using engineering expertise.
  6. Audit product-related documents for conformance.
  7. Interpret engineering drawings and sketches.
  8. Coordinate projects and monitor progress using project management tools.
  9. Ensure quality through control processes.
  10. Prepare for and participate in customer audits.
  11. Create and revise departmental procedures.
  12. Facilitate communication between upper management, technicians, production, and operations.
  13. Understand chemical reactions during processing, including changes in alloys and dimensions.
Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • BA in Engineering with 1-3 years’ experience, or
  • AAS in Technical discipline with 3-5 years’ experience, or
  • High school diploma with trade school certification or college courses and 8-10 years’ experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor equipment refurbishment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Mathematical skills, including unit conversions.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, positive attitude.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Understanding of blueprints and symbols.
  • AutoCAD or similar software experience is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
