Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Process Engineer II to support development of manufacturing processes and battery designs for New Product Development at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) for Cardiac Rhythm Management. This role will work onsite at least 4 days a week and engage cross-functional teams.

You will design transfer, validate processes, and ensure safety, quality, yield, and OEE while collaborating with Design, Operations, Quality, and Reliability. Travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with limited experience.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes for regulated industries preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A Day in the Life

The Process Engineer II will support the development of manufacturing processes and battery designs for New Product Development at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) for Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) business. MECC supports the design, development, and production of power components used in implantable devices. We are working onsite a minimum of 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require less than 10% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams including Design, Operations, Quality, and Reliability to develop processes for batteries in a regulated industry
• Ensure processes and designs are compatible and in compliance with regulations
• Contribute to the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations
• Design transfer to include objectives for safety, quality, yield, cycle time, and OEE
• Breadth of work can include scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling/fixture and equipment installation
• Ensure assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements
• Plan and execute process validation: characterization, OQ/PQ, TMVs/measurement systems, statistical process control, and process release activities
• Develop manufacturing equipment by creating requirements and interfacing with suppliers during equipment design and build; familiar with FAT/SAT/IQ
• Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet design specifications and technology target specifications
• Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
• Conduct statistical analysis and document results and recommendations

Requirements

• Requires a Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $84,000.00 - $126,000.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
