Job summary

ITAC, an ENR-ranked design-build firm, is seeking a Process Engineer II to support manufacturing operations at our Wilmington, NC assignment. On-site, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process performance, product flow, and plant efficiency.

The role emphasizes Lean manufacturing, 5S, kaizen, and data analysis to identify opportunities, reduce waste, and cut costs while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial or Ceramic Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or related technical experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, production processes, and standard engineering principles.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience with 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, flow improvement, line balancing, or work cell design.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations through process analysis, troubleshooting, and improvement activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve flow, increase capacity, and lower cost.
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, visual management, and standard work.
• Assist with process documentation, operating procedures, and standard work updates.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support line balancing, workflow, layout, staffing, and work cell improvements.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and other teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and productivity.
• Communicate progress, findings, and recommendations clearly.
