Job summary

Ovivo Ultra-Pure Water+ by Ecolab's Water Technology Solutions in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Process Engineer II to independently design, size, and document UPW, wastewater, and reclaim water systems for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities. You will develop review-ready deliverables and support client and internal technical discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• 3 years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with UPW, wastewater, reclaim, or industrial water treatment systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform system sizing, process calculations, and mass balances for UPW, wastewater, and reclaim systems with senior review.
• Develop and maintain process specifications, design bases, and narratives aligned with contract documents.
• Prepare P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment lists, and calculations in coordination with design and CAD teams.
• Review vendor data, equipment proposals, and submittals for technical compliance.
• Support client discussions and design reviews with clear process intent and assumptions.
• Coordinate with automation/controls engineers to align process design with control philosophy.
• Provide technical support to project teams to resolve process-related issues.
• Participate in startup and commissioning activities including troubleshooting.

Job description

As a Process Engineer II , you will serve as an independent contributor responsible for the design, sizing, and documentation of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment, and Reclaim Water Treatment Systems for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will develop review-ready technical deliverables, support client and internal technical discussions, and take increasing ownership of defined engineering scopes while collaborating across project, design, automation, and commissioning teams.

What You Will Do

• Perform system sizing, process calculations, and mass balances for Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment, and Reclaim Water Treatment Systems with senior review as required
• Develop and maintain process specifications, design bases, and technical narratives aligned with contract documents and client standards
• Prepare and maintain P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment lists, and supporting calculations in coordination with design and CAD teams
• Review vendor technical data, equipment proposals, and submittals for technical compliance and system integration
• Support client technical discussions, design reviews, and internal coordination meetings by communicating process intent and design assumptions
• Coordinate with automation and controls engineers to align process design with control philosophy, sequences of operation, and functional logic
• Provide technical support to project engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to resolve process-related issues
• Participate in startup and commissioning activities, including troubleshooting and performance verification, as required
• Demonstrate increasing technical ownership of assigned scopes while incorporating feedback from senior engineers
• Contribute to continuous improvement of process standards and best practices

Position Details

• Onsite at our Vancouver, WA office, Hybrid work
• Periodic travel is required to support customer design reviews and startup/commissioning efforts
• Maximum travel requirement may be up to two weeks at a time, potentially several times per year, depending on project needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related qualified training from an accredited university is required
• 3 years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), Wastewater, Reclaim, or Industrial Water Treatment Systems, including core unit operations such as Filtration, ACF, UF, RO, IX/EDI, Solids Separation, Sludge Management, Biological Treatment, and Chemical Systems
• Familiarity with third-party sizing and projection software, including RO, GTM, pumps, Ion Exchange, PIPEFLO, WAVE, PHREEQC, or similar tools
• Ability to develop process calculations, system sizing, and mass balances with limited supervision and senior review
• Experience preparing and maintaining process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, process narratives, equipment lists, and technical specifications
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project, mechanical, electrical, automation, and design teams to deliver coordinated and constructible system designs

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant3D is a plus.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

The pay for this role is $90,000-$120,000 Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
