Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • 6 months of experience in an engineering function.
  • Experience with 2-D & 3-D CAD systems (Catia, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Understanding of PLC programming (Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi preferred).
  • Vision System experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem-solving tools such as Kaizen Spiral, Six Sigma, Fishbone, 8D, etc.
  • Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong process knowledge and skills
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions/spec sheet.
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Assures responsibilities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Ensures safety of self and others in the production area and notifies safety team as needed.
  • Supports Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes; analyzes design, fabrication, tooling, and materials.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and finds solutions.
  • Improves efficiency by planning workflow, space, and layout.
  • Calculates production costs and reviews schedules.
  • Prepares product and process reports from data and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational with maintenance and procedures.
  • Trains associates on equipment operation and produces work instructions.
  • Leads or participates in problem-solving for quality, maintenance, or process concerns.
  • Coordinates resources for process and maintenance support.
  • Develops training for other engineers, coordinators, and maintenance.
  • Updates Process Flow and PFMEA plans.
  • analyzes project risks and develops contingency plans.
  • Reviews and resolves safety concerns on sites.
  • Prepares and presents department progress towards goals and KPIs.
  • Maintains 5S standards and general cleanliness.
  • Actively participates in production activities.

AGC | Process Engineer I, Elizabethtown, KY

AGC Automotive Americas (AANA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.

Location of Position: Elizabethtown, KY

Approximately 5-10% travel requirement for the position.

Responsibilities:
  • Assures that all responsibilities are carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company and customer requirements, policies, practices, and standards of conduct.
  • Ensures safety of self and others within the production area and is responsible for notifying supervisor or safety team of all safety concern while adhering to al company policies and procedures.
  • Supports all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Initiatives.
  • Evaluates & continuously improves manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from production associates.
  • Capability to use trouble shooting skills to evaluate and find solutions to equipment issues as they arise.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by working with maintenance and other services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
  • Assists with training associates on how to operate production equipment and prepares work instructions on equipment options as required.
  • Capability to use trouble shooting skills to evaluate and find solutions to equipment issues as they arise.
  • Lead and or participate in problem-solving activities regarding quality, maintenance, or process concerns.
  • Coordinate resources to provide process support and maintenance support.
  • Help to facilitate development of other engineers, coordinators, and maintenance through training activities.
  • Update and develop Process Flow and PFMEA plans.
  • Analyze project risks by working with project teams to develop suitable contingency plans for tasks that would result in project failure if not properly executed
  • Review for and resolve safety concerns in project construction sites.
  • Prepare and present general project status updates.
  • Prepare and present department progress towards goals and KPI measurables.
  • Maintains 5S standards which include general cleaning, correct placement of tools, etc.
  • Actively participate in all activities within the production environment.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • 6 months of experience in an engineering function
