Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer in El Paso, TX to develop, standardize, and improve manufacturing processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance, with responsibilities spanning process design, SOP creation, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration with IT, engineering, and operations to scale new technologies and maximize output.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Specialized Lean Six Sigma training is preferred.
  • 0–2 years in engineering; 2–4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implements, and improves manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across operations.
  • Diagnoses and resolves process-related problems to minimize downtime and keep productivity high.
  • Applies Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to drive cost reductions and efficiency gains.
  • Creates and maintains process flow diagrams, SOPs, and technical reports.
  • Collaborates with design, quality, maintenance and operations teams for seamless integration.
  • Assists in scaling up and validating processes for new products or technologies.
  • Ensures machinery and tools operate within specified parameters for optimal output.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to hourly team members on process changes.
  • Works with IT and engineering teams to integrate digital tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies.

Job Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for the development, standardization, quality, and continuous improvement of processes and products. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective operation of production processes, implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, introduction of new products, and to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs, implements, and improves manufacturing or production processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout all process operations.
  • Diagnoses and resolves process-related problems to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Applies Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive cost reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Creates and maintains process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
  • Works with design, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless process integration.
  • Assists in scaling up and validating processes for new products or technologies.
  • Ensure machinery and tools operate within specified parameters for optimal output.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to hourly team members, and other staff on process changes or best practices.
  • Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to integrate digital tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
