Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer in Holland, MI to optimize EV battery production efficiency and quality. You will drive process capability, recipe setting, and defect reduction through systematic improvements across processes and equipment.

The role requires a technical engineering background with 1–3+ years in production technology, plus problem-solving and teamwork skills. On-site work in Holland, MI, with opportunities to contribute to a global leader in EV

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; MBA or MS preferred.
• 1–3+ years' experience in production technology preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, yield and OEE for assigned processes and departments.
• Troubleshoot machines with engineers and operators to maximize yield and OEE.
• Analyze quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop SOPs and train operators for accurate floor implementation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and fire regulations.
• Optimize specs and establish process conditions; create PFDs and PFMEAs.

Title: Process Engineer

Reports to: Process Engineering Manager

Location: Holland, MI

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications. Come join the leader in advanced EV batteries!

Summary

The Process Engineer will provide support in optimizing productivity and sustainability of EV battery production through high level of technical knowledge while ensuring stable mass production quality & PD improvement through recipe setting, spec aligning, process capability management, and high quality defect improvement based on a technical understanding of the process and equipment

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of assigned process and department
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Analyze Quality issues to provide corrective actions
• Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
• Compliance with health/safety/environmental/ fire regulations
• Spec. optimization and process conditions establishment
• PFD: process flow diagram, PFMEA: process failure mode and effects analysis, CP: control plan
• Chronic defect improvement activities
• Production/development model dissemination and 4M change verification
• Conduct internal and customer audits
• Non-conformance report handling and improvement
• Response to internal/external quality issues for the customer
• Establishment and revision of PFD, PF Manual
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience

• 1-3+ years' of experience in production technology related job preferred but not required
