Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. seeks a Process Engineer I to optimize productivity and sustainability in battery production. You will set recipes, align specs, manage process capability, and drive defect reduction through technical understanding of processes and equipment.

You will analyze productivity and OEE, troubleshoot with engineers and operators, improve processes via SOPs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in production technology or related field.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Prior work experience with an Asian HQ global company is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, OEE and yield for assigned processes.
• Collaborate with engineers/operators to troubleshoot machines.
• Address quality issues with corrective actions.
• Create SOPs and train operators for correct floor implementation.
• Ensure compliance with health/safety/environmental regulations.
• Optimize specs and process conditions; update manuals and PF/CP docs.
• Disseminate production/development models and verify changes (4M).
• Support internal and customer audits and address non-conformances.
• Respond to quality issues and communicate actions to stakeholders.
• Maintain and revise PFD and PF Manual as needed.

Summary

The Process Engineer I will provide support in optimizing productivity and sustainability of battery production through high level of technical knowledge while ensuring stable mass production quality & PD improvement through recipe setting, spec aligning, process capability management, and high-quality defect improvement based on a technical understanding of the process and equipment

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of assigned process and department
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Analyze Quality issues to provide corrective actions
• Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
• Compliance with health/safety/environmental/ fire regulations
• Spec. optimization and process conditions establishment
• PFD: process flow diagram, PFMEA: process failure mode and effects analysis, CP: control plan
• Production/development model dissemination and 4M change verification
• Conduct internal and customer audits
• Non-conformance report handling and improvement
• Response to internal/external quality issues for the customer
• Establishment and revision of PFD, PF Manual
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
• Must be available to work weekend/night shifts based on team’s needs
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Experience

• 1-3+ years’ of experience in production technology related job preferred but not required
• Experience in working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Previous experience working in Asian HQ global company
