Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Dearborn Works is seeking a Process Engineer to provide engineering know-how, design improvements and cost/quality efficiency gains across facilities. You will research alternatives, analyze components, and support new product/process design with data-driven conclusions.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, experience in heavy manufacturing, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a technical field is required.
• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required.
• Continuous improvement and problem-solving skill set required.
• Must be able to manage several projects at a time.
• Strong communication and extensive computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering know-how in solving technical problems.
• Researches alternative solutions related to cost, quality, and production requirements and consults with colleagues to ensure proper documentation.
• Analyzes component parts and investigates field application to determine cost effectiveness.
• Responsible for new product and process design and evaluates potential new technologies for improvements.
• Develops, analyzes, prepares and executes technical projects and presents conclusions to supervision.
• Develops working relationships with Engineering, Operating, Maintenance, Quality, Research and Technical Service to communicate processing applications related to cost, quality, production and safety.
• Attends conferences and visits to stay abreast of developments in the area of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.
