Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring a full-time Chemical Engineer to support safety, reliability, and cost improvements across mill processes in the United States. The role can become a Process Engineer or a Process Controls Engineer depending on mill needs and project requirements.

The position requires a chemical or paper engineering degree with 0–4 years of experience, U.S. work authorization, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, paper engineering, or related field is required.
• 0-4 years of experience in process engineering or paper industry.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver's license.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and support mill safety, environmental, quality and product safety expectations.
• Reduce costs by tracking performance and identifying savings opportunities.
• Optimize mill processes through studies, troubleshooting, and lean projects.
• Analyze data to identify trends and support business decisions.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering on modifications.
• Provide technical direction and support for control systems (Process Control Engineer).
• Assist with planning, programming, and improvement of mill PLC and HMI systems.
• Support process improvement and capital projects through design and startup.
