Job summary

Suterra, a leader in pheromone-based pest control, seeks a Process Engineer to validate and improve chemical production processes at our Bend, Oregon facility. You will define processes, specify equipment, launch new chemicals, and lead cross-functional initiatives with safety, quality, and cost in mind.

Collaboration with development, production, maintenance, and EH&S is essential to achieve mass production of high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in product development or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with SPC and DOE for process validation.
• Experience at a site with Process Safety Management.
• Ability to operate and train others on lab equipment.
• Familiar with PLCs and troubleshooting chemical, mechanical, and electrical issues.
• Strong problem-solving with risk mitigation and cross-functional teamwork.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process Definition: publish SOPs and batch records updates.
• Maintain BOM for production outputs.
• Approve SOP/batch changes with stakeholders.
• Define equipment functional requirements and testing.
• Define maintenance for process performance.
• New Product Launch: devise trials and analyze data.
• Define material specs and process parameters aligned with safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Production Support: identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Generate and assess proposals for process improvements.
• Analyze production data to identify issues and improvements.
