Process Engineer - Automation and Controls (Milford, CT)

FCP Euro is seeking an Automation and Controls Process Engineer to join its Process Engineering / Continuous Improvement team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with DC Operations to design, source, install, commission, and improve warehouse control, automation, and material handling systems. A strong background in electrical systems, automation, process control systems, and relevant standards & codes is required. Experience in supply chain is preferred but not essential.

This is an on-site role, with options to work at Milford, CT, or Mesa, AZ. Hybrid arrangements may be available based on business needs.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop control system designs and automation solutions for distribution operations.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Create and monitor KPIs for MHE/automation system performance.
  • Ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget, understanding design requirements and engineering challenges.
  • Program and modify conveyor systems and automation systems for engineering changes.
  • Support system installation, start-up, and debugging of hardware and software.
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Become an expert in the supply chain process and provide insights for improvements.
  • Employ continuous improvement methodologies such as visual management, Kaizens, and value stream mapping.
  • Monitor and enhance processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Own process improvement projects, resolve issues, and ensure success while emphasizing safety.
  • Communicate ideas clearly, actively share information, and present effectively in group settings.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Increase MHE uptime.
  • Invest in and commission automation with expected ROI.
  • Reduce Cost per Order/Shipment through process improvements.
  • Enhance customer experience by improving on-time shipments and reducing errors/damages.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Experience in distribution, warehousing, or logistics preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience with MHE, electrical, and warehouse automation systems.
  • Proficiency in programming PanelView, LabView, Factory Talk, Studio 5000, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix, Siemens, GE, etc.).
  • Experience with data tools such as Python, R, SQL, Matlab, SAS.
  • Building business insight dashboards (Grafana, Sigma, Tableau, PowerBI) is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
Compensation

Base salary ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, with total compensation between $87,400 and $131,000 annually, depending on experience.
