Keytronic is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, implement, and support manufacturing processes, tooling, and programming in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of work experience in the related field.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate support and resolution of production process issues.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve process and testing issues affecting quality, first pass yield and efficiency.
  • Support scheduling and tracking for projects and activities within the Process Engineering group.
  • Maintain and improve methods, tooling and programming for production processes.
  • Assist with capital equipment selection, installation and project support to maintain process capabilities.
  • Coordinate company projects involving peers and ensure timelines.
  • Provide documentation and tooling activities for production of assigned areas.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineer to resolve part discrepancies and deviations for schedules.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external customer requests.
  • Follow ISO procedures and ESD policies within Process Engineering.

The Process Engineer’s basic purpose is to develop, implement and support manufacturing processes, programming and tooling.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Responsible for immediate support and resolution of production process issues
  • Identify, analyze and/or resolve process and testing issues that are effecting product quality, first pass yield and manufacturing efficiency
  • Provide support for scheduling and tracking for projects and activities within the Process Engineering group
  • Works to maintain and improve methods/tooling/programming for production processes
  • Supports projects that encompass cost justification, selection and installation of capital equipment necessary for maintaining process capabilities and meeting Process Engineering and company production goals
  • Coordinates specific company projects involving peers
  • Coordinate and provide support to all documentation, equipment and tooling activities necessary for production of assigned areas
  • Coordinate with Project Engineer to resolve part discrepancies and requests for deviations necessary for meeting production and materials schedules
  • Promptly respond in professional manner to all requests from customers (both internal and external)
  • Provide support to other activities as defined by the Process Engineering Manager.
  • Follow all ISO procedures within the Process Engineering department
  • Follow all ESD policies and procedures
  • Other duties as directed by management/supervision

Assignment, Review and Approval of Work:

  • Process Engineering Manager, VP of Engineering
Responsibility of Incumbent
  • Comply with all company policies and Quality System documents
  • To provide technical support to ensure that assigned area processes are operating within specifications in order to produce quality products
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIP
  • Interface internally with all other departments within the division concerning assigned processes and areas
  • Interface externally when required with customer contacts and Project Engineers for assigned customers and processes
  • Works closely with production supervision to solve process problems in all areas of the plant.
CHALLENGES
  • This position requires broad knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and electromechanical assemblies, and the ability to effectively interface with all other departments within the company

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, production area, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is moderately loud and may at times be louder in some areas.
