Job description

Position Overview

We have an immediate opening for Process Engineers to support projects across the Process Industries and Water/Wastewater markets. You will be part of a growing organization that develops practical, constructible process engineering solutions for customers across North America. These solutions are designed to transition seamlessly from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning, and successful project delivery. In this role, you will provide process engineering support for evaluation, selection, design, optimization, and implementation of process systems associated with Kiewit’s EPC projects and pursuits. Project types may include data centers, gasification facilities, biofuels, fuel generation, renewable fuels, industrial process facilities, industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment, water reuse, and other related process infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience developing process engineering deliverables, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, evaluating vendor data, supporting process simulations, and contributing to technical decisions throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong communication, technical curiosity, and the ability to work within project budgets and schedules while supporting high-quality engineering deliverables.

District Overview

The Kiewit Water Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and control, structural, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on collaborative Design-Build (progressive and/or fixed price) and EPC delivery models for complex water projects. The team brings project solutions to life across North America in the following areas:

  • Water Treatment
  • Potable Municipal and Groundwater Desalination
  • Advanced Water Reuse
  • Groundwater Remediation
  • Storm water Recycling
  • Industrial Water Treatment
  • Wastewater Treatment
  • Biosolids Treatment
  • Pipelines and Conveyance
Location

This role will be based out of our Lenexa, Kansas office or our Lone Tree Colorado office. We offer excellent relocation. Some consideration may be made for candidates with more senior level experience directly in Municipal and Industrial Wastewater and water treatment design, with EPC project experience, to be in other Kiewit Hub locations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide process engineering support for process industries and water/wastewater projects, including process evaluation, selection, design development, optimization, and lifecycle cost considerations.
  • Develop, prepare, and review process engineering deliverables, including block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process simulations, design basis documents, line lists, calculations, equipment sizing, datasheets, technical specifications, reports, drawings, and applicable design standards.
  • Perform process design activities related to hydraulics, material balances, utility requirements, equipment sizing, process controls, interdisciplinary coordination, and technical evaluations of vendor proposals, equipment data, and supplier documentation.
