Job summary

STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION is a leading supplier of access and security systems for the automotive market. The role focuses on designing and installing systems for process improvement, solving problems, and coordinating production launches with major automotive customers and electronic partners.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and has several years of manufacturing experience, preferably in diecast or stamping, with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to present concepts clearly.
• Familiar with AIAG documentation requirements and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and installation of systems for process improvement.
• Investigation of problems or new equipment capabilities.
• Facilitate problem-solving and continuous improvement using models and statistics.
• Develop layouts, drawings, specifications, test methods, process flow diagrams, FMEAs and control plans; AIAG format familiarity.
• Coordinate production launch for new programs to ensure smooth transitions.
• Own projects and assist on larger, more complex assignments under supervision.
• Define and coordinate continuous improvement for scrap, flow, costs or manufacturing setup issues.
• Participate as manufacturing process engineer within cross-functional teams.
• Assist in coordinating component APQP activities and capital requisitions.
• Assist in preparation or coordination of required process validation activities during APQP.

• Responsible for the design and installation of systems for process improvement
• Responsible for the investigation of problems or new equipment capabilities
• Facilitates in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities, utilizing process models and statistical techniques
• Responsible for the development of layouts, drawings, specifications, test methods, process flow diagrams, FMEA’s and control plans. Should be familiar with AIAG format for above documentation
• Coordinates production launch for new programs to ensure smooth transition and minimal problems
• Responsible for projects and tasks. Assists on larger, more complex assignments under appropriate supervision
• Defines and coordinates continuous improvement for scrap, flow, costs or manufacturing set-up issues.
• Participates as manufacturing process engineer as part of cross functional team.
• Assist in facilitating and coordinating the component advanced product planning, including capital requisitions
• Assist in preparation or coordination of required process validation activities during advanced product quality planning

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office Products
• Ability to advise, teach, explain and present development concepts.
• Proven planning and organizational skills are required
• Familiar with AIAG documentation requirements
• Read, create, analyze and interpret complex documentation, prints, periodicals, journals, etc.
• Proven problem solving abilities, methodology.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Engineering required.
• 5 yrs. manufacturing industry experience in diecast or punch press preferred.
• Previous automotive quality systems experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
