Job summary

ITAC is seeking a Process Engineer II to support manufacturing operations by improving process performance, product flow, and overall plant efficiency on a seconded assignment with a client at the Wilmington, NC site.

You will work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, solve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial or Ceramic Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment or related technical experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, production processes, and standard engineering principles.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience with 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, flow improvement, line balancing, or work cell design.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations through process analysis, troubleshooting, and improvement activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve flow, increase capacity, and lower cost.
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, visual management, and standard work.
• Assist with process documentation, operating procedures, and standard work updates.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support line balancing, workflow, layout, staffing, and work cell improvements.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and other teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and productivity.
• Communicate progress, findings, and recommendations clearly.

This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. This position is full time contract work anticipated to last for the next 1-2 years, and requires the employee to be on the client's Wilmington, NC site. Preferred Qualifications

• Data Analytics
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting
• Project management experience
