Job summary

ITAC seeks a Process Engineer II to enhance manufacturing operations, improve process performance, and increase plant efficiency. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The role requires a BS or MS in engineering and 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of Lean tools and standard engineering principles.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial or Ceramic Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years' manufacturing experience or related technical experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
• Lean tools experience (5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations through process analysis and improvement activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and lower cost.
• Apply Lean tools (5S, kaizen, VSM, visual management, standard work).
• Assist with process documentation and standard work updates.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Support line balancing, workflow, layout, and work cell improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality and other teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in projects to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity.

This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. This position is full time contract work anticipated to last for the next 1-2 years, and requires the employee to be on the client's Wilmington, NC site.

Overview

This role will work with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, solve technical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations through process analysis, troubleshooting, and improvement activities
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve flow, increase capacity, and lower cost
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, visual management, and standard work
• Assist with process documentation, operating procedures, and standard work updates
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Support line balancing, workflow, layout, staffing, and work cell improvements
• Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and other teams to resolve technical issues
• Participate in projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and productivity
• Communicate progress, findings, and recommendations clearly

• BS or MS in the following Engineering Disciplines: Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Industrial or Ceramic Engineering or other related engineering discipline
• 2+ years' experience inManufacturing Environment or related technical experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, production processes, and standard engineering principles
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
• Experience with 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, flow improvement, line balancing, or work cell design
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Analytics
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting
• Project management experience
