Qualifications

Job description

NRD, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development and optimization of the manufacturing operations. This role will be focus on designing and improving manufacturing processes related to performance, improving efficiency, ensuring product quality, reducing costs and supporting safe and compliant operations.

This ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineering professional with strong expertise in metallurgical or chemical processes, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges. They are someone who can balance technical depth with practical execution and continuously look for ways to improve quality, efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Define and optimize manufacturing process flows for metal processing and chemical operations including melting, casting, machining, heat treatment, pressing, sintering and plating.
  • Analyze existing industry practices and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Establish effective process control practices for existing manufacturing process
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance, interpreting and resolving engineering challenges
  • Support the design and specification of manufacturing equipment and production systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop project schedules, capital estimates, and technical deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering teams and other departments to ensure alignment
  • Review engineering designs, drawings and specification for accuracy, completeness and feasibility
  • Prepare process design documentation and technical specifications to support engineering and operations teams.
  • Work with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders to evaluate manufacturing methods and implement best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • 5 years’ experience in precision machining, specialty metals, chemical or heavy manufacturing, aerospace, energy, defense or industrial equipment.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, material behavior, and metal forming techniques.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to challenge conventional approaches.
Salary Range

Final compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and overall alignment with the role.

This position is restricted to U.S. citizens in compliance with federal regulations and contractual requirements. Candidates must be able to provide proof of citizenship and may be required to obtain a security clearance.
