Job summary

MW Components, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes on the production floor.

You will work with operators, supervisors, and engineering teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and sustain results that improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost. The role focuses on reducing scrap and downtime, shortening cycle times, and ensuring process capability and compliance with customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required with 3–5 years of process/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience in metalworking, machining, CNC and precision manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven improvement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, delivery, output, and cost goals.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to help improve and optimize our manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being on the production floor, solving problems, working directly with operators and supervisors, and seeing improvements through from identification to implementation.

The Process Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve safety, quality, throughput, process capability, and cost. Key areas of focus will include reducing scrap and downtime, improving cycle times, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and creating consistent, sustainable processes.

What You'll Do

• Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to support safety, quality, delivery, output, and cost objectives.
• Analyze production and process data to identify trends, variation, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues directly on the production floor and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Lead and support projects focused on reducing scrap, rework, downtime, cycle time, and manufacturing costs.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment, tooling, process parameters, work methods, and manufacturing flow.
• Monitor manufacturing metrics such as scrap, downtime, throughput, cycle time, and process capability.
• Perform root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain standardized processes, process parameters, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support PFMEAs, Control Plans, process flows, process capability studies, validations, and trial runs.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
• Partner with Production and Quality to ensure processes consistently meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Work directly with machine operators, supervisors, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and training to production employees on process requirements and changes.
• Support new product introductions, equipment installations, process changes, equipment upgrades, and production start-ups.
• Ensure process improvements and changes are properly tested, documented, communicated, and sustained.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• 3–5 years of process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in metalworking, machining, CNC machining, screw machine operations, or precision manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement, manufacturing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, scrap reduction, and cycle-time improvement.
• Knowledge of statistical methods, process capability, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Familiarity with PFMEAs, Control Plans, process flows, and work instructions.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively analyze manufacturing and production data and translate findings into practical improvements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Ability and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor.
