Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer with a strong background in P&ID, PFD, and GA drawings, plus experience sizing equipment and piping systems for nuclear projects. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of related experience and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities include vendor coordination, review of fellow engineers' work, and cross-disciplinary design input coordination to ensure accurate and complete deliverables. DOE nuclear exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
  • Other engineering degrees will be considered if applicable experience.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear projects is a big plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams / Process Flow Diagrams / General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Equipment sizing calculations (compressors, chillers, pumps, etc.).
  • Process line sizing calculations.
  • Control valve, pressure relief-device, and orifice sizing calculations.
  • Equipment and Instrument datasheets.
  • Vendor coordination for selection of instrumentation and equipment.
  • Reviewing and checking the work of other process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineering disciplines in a team environment.
  • Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
