Overview
Under limited direction, this role partners with business process leaders across the organization to drive business process improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and achieve cost-reduction goals. The position is responsible for teaching, coaching, and deploying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools in both formal and informal settings, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement within the laboratory network and broader operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business process improvement initiatives to align with organizational goals for customer satisfaction and cost savings.
- Provide hands-on training and coaching to management and frontline employees on Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC tools.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the laboratory network and operations.
- Ensure product and process improvements align with internal, customer, and industry requirements.
- Develop and simplify processes and procedures to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process intervention and innovation.
- Oversee the implementation and deployment of process and procedural changes.
- Establish measurable metrics to integrate Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with key business drivers.
- Drive standardization of quality processes and systems within the business.
- Prepare, manage, and control budgets and expenses related to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certification: Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required. Lean Manufacturing practitioner preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing or operations environment.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools, with demonstrated ability to implement them in operational environments.
- Strong understanding of operations processes, mechanical engineering, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience delivering training to employees at all levels, in both formal and informal settings.
- Skilled in process improvement, problem-solving, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent negotiation, motivational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with tools including Minitab 17, descriptive statistics, flowcharting, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
- Exceptional collaboration skills for fostering cooperation across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong discretion, independent judgment, and leadership in managing continuous improvement projects.
