Job summary

Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer to manage plant operations in Roswell, GA. You will troubleshoot processes, drive improvement, and maintain stable manufacturing through data analysis and lean practices.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Engineering Management, with 3–5 years in chemical manufacturing, and strong knowledge of process safety and SPC. Collaboration with maintenance, operations and R&D is essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Engineering Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a medium to large-scale chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Background in process safety management.
  • Demonstrated skills in designing equipment, plant and processes, including a history of managing capital projects for quality, schedule and cost adherence.
  • Experience in transitioning development projects from lab into manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience applying them in an industrial setting.
  • 3D modeling, PLC (Allen-Bradley) experience.
  • Working understanding of basic computer languages.
  • Data mining, analysis and statistical testing when appropriate.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Microsoft D365 experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operators to develop SOPs and participate in incident reviews, root cause analyses.
  • Recommend improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production and cost goals.
  • Provide facilities engineering to maintain and upgrade the existing plant.
  • Plan and direct the modifications of existing equipment and facilities.
  • Implement engineering standards and maintain the facility accordingly.
  • Interact with R&D to identify development activities to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Support design activities with business cases including economic analysis.
  • Use statistics and SPC to confirm plant operations, capability, reliability and quality.
  • Conduct audits and facility inspections to drive improvement in production.
  • Support lean manufacturing to drive waste reduction.
  • Coordinate PM and major shutdowns with procurement and scheduling.

Position Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for managing the technical aspects of the plant, including troubleshooting, process control, and process improvement. The successful applicant will be expected to create and maintain a stable and reliable manufacturing process through analysis of data and application of sound, engineering practices. A strong background in engineering and design, project management, lean manufacturing principles, and process reliability in a manufacturing environment is desired.

Duties&Responsibilities

  • Effectively collaborate with and seek input from operators and other staff to develop SOPs. Participate in incident reviews, root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Recommend improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production and cost goals.
  • Provide facilities engineering to maintain and upgrade the existing plant.
  • Plans and directs the modifications of existing equipment and facilities.
  • Implements engineering standards and maintaining the facility according to them.
  • Interact with R&D team to identify development activities necessary to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Support design activities with business cases including economic analysis.
  • Use statistics and statistical process controls to confirm plant operations, capability, reliability and quality.
  • Conduct audits and perform facility inspections to review practices and drive improvement in production.
  • Support the VP of Manufacturing and Area Manager to implement lean manufacturing principles in order to drive out waste.
  • Help build a culture of continuous improvement and establish programs to increase uptime.
  • Along with Area Manager, coordinate activities for PM and major shutdowns, including awarding contracts, procuring materials, and sequencing of work.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a medium to large‑scale chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Background in process safety management.
