Job summary

Harris & Co Executive Search partnered with a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Rhode Island to hire a Process Engineer for the Life Sciences sector. This hands-on role takes projects from concept and design through build, testing and installation, working closely with customers and an experienced technical team to deliver compliant process equipment.

You will design sanitary systems, piping layouts, vessels and skid-mounted equipment, review P&IDs, perform process calculations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biological or related engineering field.
• 3+ years engineering experience with process equipment, manufacturing or industrial systems.
• Biotech or biopharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
• CAD experience and ability to read/interprete engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sanitary process systems, piping layouts, transfer panels, pressure vessels and skid-mounted equipment.
• Create and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications and technical documentation.
• Perform process calculations, including flow rates, heat transfer, pump sizing and pressure drop.
• Work with customers, project managers, sales and production to define requirements and deliver projects on time.
• Support fabrication teams and resolve technical issues on the shop floor.
• Support FAT, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Take part in design reviews, risk assessments and root cause analysis.
• Help develop engineering standards and best practices.
