Job summary

Ambs Chemical Search LLC is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join a growing, large‑scale processing facility in Northern Nevada. The role is on-site and involves optimizing processing steps, maintaining equipment reliability, and leading projects from design to startup.

You will participate in safety analyses, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with maintenance to improve plant performance in a demanding industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 100% On-Site in Northern Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing/processing systems (leaching, crystallization, precipitation, solids–liquids separation, filtration, calcination) to optimize yield and throughput.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions.
• Manage small-to-medium Management of Change (MOC) and CapEx projects from conceptual design through startup.
• Participate in PHAs/HAZOPs and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and state standards.

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chemical Engineer to join our team at a growing, large-scale processing facility in Northern Nevada.

This role puts you 2.5 hours from Reno, Nevada and 3 hours from Lake Tahoe! Kayaking, boating, fishing, and wakeboarding are just a few of your weekend options. This role is great for an active, outdoorsy lifestyle, with mountain biking, hiking, and photography being popular pastimes among the community and visitors here.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Analyze manufacturing/processing systems (e.g., leaching, crystallization, precipitation, solids-liquids separation, filtration, and calcination) to optimize yield, throughput, and efficiency.
• Equipment Reliability & Maintenance: Collaborate with maintenance teams to monitor equipment performance (pumps, piping, pressure vessels, kilns/dryers, and instrumentation), identify root causes of equipment failure, and implement corrective actions.
• Capital & Engineering Projects: Manage small-to-medium Management of Change (MOC) and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from conceptual design and sizing through procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Process Safety & Environmental Compliance: Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOPs), and ensure plant engineering changes comply with OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory standards.

Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
