Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Process Engineer to support a leading healthcare and life sciences client. The role is hands-on on the manufacturing floor, focused on process improvement, equipment validation/qualification, and scrap reduction.

You will work directly with engineering, quality, operations, and production teams to identify process inefficiencies, investigate quality issues, and improve equipment and processes. This is a 12-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years in manufacturing, process engineering, quality, or validation.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Medical device or highly regulated manufacturing experience.
• Experience with equipment qualification/validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, scrap reduction, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate findings across teams and with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate processes, equipment, and workflow on the production floor.
• Investigate scrap, quality, yield, and process issues; identify root causes.
• Support IQ, OQ, and PQ qualification activities.
• Collect and analyze production and quality data to identify trends.
• Apply 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, and root cause analysis techniques.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to engineering, quality, and operations teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement corrective actions and improvements.

Schedule: Approximately 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, with some flexibility

Contract: 12 months (Possibility to extend)

Compensation: $40-42/hr

This individual will work directly on the manufacturing floor alongside engineering, quality, operations, and production teams to identify process inefficiencies, investigate quality and scrap-related issues, and improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with manufacturing teams on the production floor to evaluate processes, equipment, and workflow.
• Investigate scrap, quality, yield, and manufacturing process issues and identify potential root causes.
• Support equipment validation and qualification activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
• Collect and analyze production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Use problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, process consistency, and scrap reduction.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to engineering, quality, manufacturing, and operations teams.
• Work cross-functionally to implement and monitor corrective actions and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 1+ years of experience within a manufacturing, process engineering, quality, or validation environment.
• Experience working directly with manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience with equipment qualification/validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, scrap reduction, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations across engineering, quality, and operations teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Nice to Have:

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 is preferred.
• Scrap or yield reduction experience
• Experience with CNC or other manufacturing equipment
• Aerospace or automotive manufacturing experience
