Job summary

Unilever Raeford, NC is seeking a Process Engineer to drive focused improvement across safety, quality and efficiency. You will apply FI methods, connect with pillar teams, and move manual processes toward digital workflows using DFOS, MES and related tools.

You’ll lead data analysis, root-cause investigations, and standardization to eliminate losses and increase line stability, while coaching crews and ensuring governance through KPI tracking and training plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience in statistics and process control tools.
  • Ability to connect machine interfaces to digital online tools for analysis
  • Experience in AM, PM, Quality and FI tools and processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG preferred)
  • Confident in applying problem solving tools (5W1H, 4M, 5WHY etc.)
  • Experience deploying or supporting UMS pillar routines, including pillar governance, route maps, KPI/KAI tracking, project execution, training plans, and cross-pillar collaboration.

Job description

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Process Engineer role is critical to developing our factories toward World Class performance: zero defects, zero waste, zero losses, and digitally enabled ways of working. She/he will apply the full range of Focused Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified across Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service, Logistics, and operational performance. This role will support the FI UMS rollout by helping establish pillar governance, route maps, training approach, KPI/KAI tracking, project delivery, and collaboration with AM, PM, Quality, Safety, BPCD, PD, EEM, ES, and CSA pillars. The Process Engineer will also assess and improve the level of digitalization across pillar processes by moving manual and paper-based activities into integrated digital workflows, using platforms such as DFOS, BuildApp, MES, Cerebra, and project tracking tools where applicable. Working directly with line crews and pillar teams, the Process Engineer acts as a trainer and coach in phenomena identification, root cause analysis, countermeasure development, validation of process improvements, and establishment of revised basic conditions. A core deliverable is eliminating losses and waste, improving production efficiency, increasing line stability, strengthening digital adoption, and unlocking AI-enabled insights to accelerate UMS maturity, decision making, and sustainable performance improvement.

  • You’re a UMS rollout driver: Lead and support Focused Improvement pillar deployment by translating the UMS rollout playbook into clear site routines, governance, training plans, project execution, KPI/KAI follow-up, route map progress, and cross-pillar collaboration.
  • You’re a digital transformation champion: Assess the level of digitalization across UMS pillar tools and processes, verify evidence against defined scoring criteria, identify gaps, and build practical action plans that improve data quality, workflow automation, dashboard visibility, and compliance with site and global digital route maps.
  • You unlock AI for manufacturing: Convert operational data into actionable insights by applying analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to identify hidden losses, predict risks, prioritize improvement opportunities, improve problem solving speed, and support shop-floor teams with better decisions in near real time.
What You’ll Need To Succeed

Pay: The pay range for this position is $71,400 to $107,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
