Process Engineer (Asset Engineer)

Job Purpose
The primary role of this position is program development and implementation of a Process Engineering strategy, five‑year capital planning, process optimization and daily operation support.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Execute all job activities safely and efficiently in line with INEOS 20 Principles.
- Adhere to INEOS Life Saving Rules in all aspects of the job.
- Maintain integrity of assigned equipment and complete all required training on schedule.
- Develop and implement a Unit Health Monitoring program.
- Support integrity of critical assets and protective systems, maintain the critical equipment list, operating/envelope interfaces, and inspection plans.
- Define and review operating envelopes of assigned equipment.
- Assist with development of five‑year capital plan.
- Develop long‑term process engineering improvement strategy for the site.
- Write and implement MOCs, including small and large Capital Projects.
- Act as a Process Engineering resource for PHA’s.
- Establish communication with appropriate operations personnel and report investigation results.
- Main liaison between site and the C3D Process Technology Group.
- Track yields, production, and feed‑stock information into month‑end closing; back up for month‑end closing.
- Represent the site for the C3 Process Safety Handbook.
- Maintain communication with plant operators to ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Work with Operations to troubleshoot operational issues and identify process problems.
- Assist in developing and reporting Production KPIs, monitor catalyst performance, and identify process bottlenecks and long‑term trends.
- Co‑operate with the controls group on alarm management and rationalization efforts and implement controls improvements to support Smart Manufacturing.
- Provide input for daily shift instructions.
- Develop process flow diagrams.
- Drive alarm management to completion and support ongoing success.
- Solicit input from engineering, operations, and maintenance and balance conflicting requirements.
- Direct, coordinate, or participate in Process Safety Review or Management of Change processes; initiate communications and produce progress reports.
- Lead root cause analyses as needed.
- Provide engineering assistance and expertise to Operations and Maintenance.
- Assist in meeting regulatory requirements such as EPA, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), OSHA, and DOT regulations.
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Skills/Competencies

Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb fixed ladder cages to heights of 30 ft.; total ladder use may reach 200 ft.
- Ability to climb 6 flights of stairs.
- Ability to enter enclosed spaces through an 18” man‑way for cleaning and inspection.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required PPE: hardhat, safety glasses, chemical goggles, face shield, rigid safety shoes/boots, full/half face cartridge masks.
- Ability to work long periods outdoors or in inclement weather.
- Job‑specific tasks requiring climbing, balance, bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
- Understand proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
