Job summary

Job description

Process Engineer – Design, development, optimization and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes. Lead projects, provide functional leadership and engineering solutions that drive safety, quality and productivity at Kimberly‑Clark.

Responsibilities
  • Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10million from conception through commercialization.
  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.
  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner and develop processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines.
  • Provide for the safety and wellbeing of technicians and other personnel.
  • Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent’s expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.
  • Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives.
  • Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause.
  • Analyze and improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability.
  • Identify, develop and provide leadership to implement products, processes, materials, systems and procedures to achieve desired business results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Prefer Chemical and/or Pulp and Paper degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments.
  • Normally requires mill and staff experience; prefer candidates with 5–8+ years or more of experience in both mill and staff environments.
  • Past experience in paper making (tissue or towels) highly desirable.
  • Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as SPC, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and others.
  • A recognized expert in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in major capital projects.
  • Experience and expertise with Kimberly‑Clark manufacturing process engineering technology, procedures, processes and products preferred.
  • Experience working with external technical service providers preferred.
  • Demonstrated continuing self‑development (e.g., progress toward an advanced degree) preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
