Job summary

Syensqo in California is seeking a Site-Based Process Engineer to lead process engineering projects, drive continuous improvement, resolve manufacturing issues, and support new capital investments across composite materials manufacturing.

You will promote process safety, quality and customer service, support short-term tactical requests, and develop within the global process engineering framework.

The role offers development ladders and exposure across functions, with travel up to 5-10% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience in quality/process engineering within manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred.

We are looking for:
  • You are responsible for leading site based process engineering projects and activities that drive continuous improvement, resolve chronic manufacturing issues, introduce new products or re-site existing products.
  • This position also supports and deploys GBU wide best practices and manufacturing standards along with supporting new capital investments and technology common across Composite Materials Manufacturing sites.

  • Support the short term tactical requests from the site-based team while managing the long term strategic projects set forth by the global process engineering team.

  • There are various technical and operational ladders available for development.
You will bring:
  • Bachelors of Science (Engineering Preferred)
  • Previous experience in quality/process engineering function in manufacturing environment
  • Electrical, programming, process monitoring and/or automation implementation experience preferred
  • Continuous improvement background with demonstrated experience in problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Preferably has experience in composite material / adhesive material manufacturing or other similar continuous web process industries (paper, film, foil, or textile industries)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred)
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and value chain.
  • Understand key operational metrics and communicate across organization to achieve clear alignment and focus.
  • Understanding of quality systems, ISO9001/AS9100 requirements.
  • Understanding processes to engage cross-functional teams to solve quality and process capability problems.

You will get:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $123,400-$159,600 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more weeks, of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations

Additional information:
Flexibility to travel to other locations and work outside normal working hours as required by the projects (could be 5-10% travel)
