Job summary

Chemours is seeking a Process Engineer for the Minerals Team at its Mill Plant locations in Jesup, Nahunta, and Patterson, GA. The engineer will support mining and separation operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and productivity across facilities.

Responsibilities include learning separation processes, optimizing mill performance, and generating daily operational reports using Aspen Process Explorer and SEEQ, with emphasis on hands-on collaboration with various levels of staff.

Qualifications

  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, or PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and health rules and company policies.
  • Learn and understand the separation process.
  • Work with operations to optimize mill performance and recoveries for target product grade.
  • Create daily reports tracking feed grade, throughput, product output, and recovery (Aspen Process Explorer and/or SEEQ).
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of the process with operations.
  • Assist with engineering, troubleshooting, and incident investigation, documenting systemic issues.
  • Participate in Capital Project consulting, PHA reviews, PSSR, and other safety/process reviews.
  • Assist the Process Manager to keep SOPs, Process Flow Diagrams, and Management‑Of‑Change up to date.

Process Engineer – Minerals Team

This position will be available at our Mill Plant located in Jesup, GA, Nahunta, GA & Patterson, GA and report directly to the FL/GA Engineering Manager. The Georgia Process Engineer will provide process and technical support to our mining and separation operations to ensure the safety, reliability, and productivity of the facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and health rules and all company policies and procedures.
  • Learn and understand the separation process.
  • Work with operations to perform adjustments that optimize mill performance, maximize heavy mineral recoveries, and meet product grade targets.
  • Create daily reports that track feed grade, throughput capacity, product output, and recovery by utilizing Aspen Process Explorer and/or SEEQ software.
  • Conduct daily visual inspection of the process at key points both hands‑on and with support from operational personnel.
  • Aid in engineering, troubleshooting, and incident investigation, including documentation and tracking of systemic issues.
  • Participate in related activities such as: Capital Project consulting, Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and other process and safety reviews.
  • Assist the Process Manager to ensure that the area process documentation is accurate and up to date, including updates on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Flow Diagrams, and Management‑Of‑Change processes.
Required Qualifications
  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
  • Interest in working in a hands‑on environment with various levels of employees in the company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, or PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or Mining Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role.
  • Experience working in an industrial production environment.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Pay Range

Pay Range (in local currency): $73,947.00 - $115,542.00

Chemours Level: 23 | Annual Bonus Target: 6%

Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
