Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Process Engineer for on-site work in Pine Hall, NC. The role focuses on analyzing, troubleshooting, and enhancing continuous flow processes using problem-solving techniques.

The position requires 3–5 years in manufacturing, a mechanical/industrial/Materials Science background, and strong Lean/Six Sigma experience. Schedule is M-F, 2-11pm, with full-time benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and/or production processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Science Engineering preferred.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Experience with project planning, deadlines, and budget adherence.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Access and SQL and Minitab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn machine functions and process flow of assigned area and quality requirements.
  • Be the go-to expert for technical and quality aspects; optimize and implement SOPs.
  • Analyze, record, and maintain process data for reference.
  • Identify and implement workflow optimizations to boost productivity and uptime.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction activities.
  • Develop and deliver training on SOP updates to the team.
  • Use PFMEA, Six Sigma tools to resolve process issues.
  • Support equipment installation and qualification activities.

Wieland is hiring a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, trouble shooting and enhancing of continuous flow processes and equipment utilizing problem solving techniques. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Schedule: M-F, 2-11pm

Responsibilities

Process Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Learn all machine functions and process flow of assigned area and corresponding quality requirements.
  • Become subject matter expert for the technical and quality aspects of assigned area, optimizing, developing, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Analyze, record and maintain process data for future reference.
  • Identify, design and implement optimization of workflow in accordance too quality requirements, to boost productivity, increase Machine Uptime and eliminate the 8 waste according to Lean Manufacturing principle.
  • Lead continuous improvement and implements cost reduction activities.
  • Develop and deliver training on new and revised SOP to department trainers.
  • Utilize problem solving and statistical tools (such as A3 and Six Sigma technique) to resolve processing and quality issues.
  • Experience PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Analysis)
  • Participate in the development and execution of equipment installation and operational qualifications to achieve expected process capability.
  • He/she will work to minimize repairs and maintenance required through collaboration of Preventative Maintenance activities.

Process Engineer Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and/or production processes, quality assurance, and Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering preferred).
  • Flexible, people oriented and able to work in a team environment.
  • Possess strong and demonstrated analytical and decision making skills that foster developing creative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - strong ability to multitask complex projects efficiently.
  • Ability to support operating goals and to execute process improvement projects, including the ability to define, develop, and document requirements.
  • Experience with project planning, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point required. Access, SQL and Minitab preferred.
