Job summary

Dana is seeking a procurement-focused engineer for its Napoleon, Ohio plant startup. You will manage prototype and production part采购, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of assemblies for axles and driveshafts. Experience with MRP, BOMs, and quality data coordination is essential.

Strong communication and GD&T understanding are required, with the ability to work extra time when needed at a brownfield facility supporting Ford Bronco and Ranger programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with interpretation of component and assembly drawings and Engineering Specifications.
  • Must understand GD&T.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Basic working knowledge of drivelines is preferred.
  • Experience with basic MRP system functions is beneficial.
  • Willing and able to work extra time when necessary.
  • Must meet the physical requirements for this position.

  • Procure and process prototype and production parts with suppliers across commodities and capabilities.
  • Communicate quality expectations and data requirements to suppliers in coordination with Dana Quality Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Samples Department and other Dana Departments.
  • Identify and procure assembly tooling required for the Samples Department’s builds.
  • Utilize Dana MRP System in support of Purchase Requisitions and Build Requirements including BOM and Work Orders.

Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal‑management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative‑energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world’s original‑equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Purpose

This position is located in Napoleon, Ohio and is a brownfield plant start‑up. The facility is a Dana final assembly plant for the Ford Bronco and Ranger products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive input on prototype axle and driveshaft assemblies or components requirements and manage the procurement and assembly processes to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Procure and process prototype and production parts with suppliers across various commodities and process capabilities.
  • Communicate quality expectations and data requirements to suppliers for purchased materials and supplier processes, coordinating with Dana Quality Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Samples Department and other Dana Departments.
  • Identify and procure assembly tooling required for the Samples Department’s axle and driveshaft builds.
  • Utilize Dana MRP System in support of Purchase Requirements (Purchase Requisitions) and Build Requirements including Bill of Material creation, Work Order creation, and other activities.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications for components, assemblies, and tooling.
  • Perform other assigned duties incidental to the occupation.
  • Support and execution of 5S Objectives.
  • Execution of Dana Operating System (DOS) Objectives.
  • Support and active involvement in department improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Education and Qualifications
