Our facility has a complete machine shop with CNC Milling, CNC Turning, Wire EDM and 3D printing. Position Summary:
The Application Engineer – Estimating Specialist will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on cost estimation and analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of machining and fabrication processes, the ability to prepare detailed cost estimates, and the capability to enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform contract reviews to assess project requirements and specifications.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, managing both cost and time constraints effectively.
Design and develop processes to optimize productivity and workflow across a wide range of manufacturing disciplines, both in-house and with supplier partners
Provide process documentation and detailed operating instructions within an ERP/MRP environment.
Examine existing processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Consult on the implementation of new processes and procedures, ensuring seamless integration into existing operations.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.
Develop effective relationships with suppliers and support team members to ensure the achievement of overall business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in Production/Process Engineering, with extensive manufacturing experience in machining and fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, and procedures.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of core manufacturing processes such as milling, turning, assembly, welding, and inspection.
Working knowledge of process definition in an ERP/MRP environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost optimization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in relevant software tools for process engineering and cost estimation.
U.S. citizenship or permanent status required.
