Job summary

KeyStaff Professionals- A Division of Midwest Staffing seeks an experienced Process Engineer – Injection Molding to support development of medical components in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will create and optimize injection molding processes, support mold sampling, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum 3 years of experience with new mold sampling and developing processes for new molds is required, along with expertise in decoupled

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with new mold sampling and developing new processes for new molds.
• Experience implementing decoupled molding processes and scientific molding techniques.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, mold setup, mold functions, and process development.
• Knowledge of plastic resins and polymer materials.
• Ability to troubleshoot molding processes and identify root causes.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust injection molding processes using scientific molding techniques, including gate freeze and short shot analyses.
• Lead new mold sampling and process development for new tooling.
• Establish and optimize process parameters for injection molding operations.
• Develop processes using decoupled molding principles and scientific molding techniques.
• Maintain engineering documentation, including DOE reports and process sheets.
• Partner with Quality to validate injection molding processes using statistical methods.
• Author test protocols and execute validation per ISO and FDA medical device requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on process capability, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Conduct failure investigations and use structured problem solving to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Review documentation for accuracy before setup sign-off.
• Provide technical training and coaching to peers and Process Technicians.

Our client is seeking an experienced Process Engineer – Injection Molding to support the development of medical components in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role will develop and optimize injection molding processes, support new mold sampling and process development, troubleshoot production issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a critical opportunity for an experienced injection molding professional. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with new mold sampling and developing new processes for new molds.

Key Responsibilitie

• sDevelop robust injection molding processes using scientific molding techniques, including gate freeze analysis, short shot analysis, and other process development methods
• .Lead new mold sampling and process development for new tooling
• .Establish and optimize process parameters for injection molding operations
• .Develop processes using decoupled molding principles and scientific molding techniques
• .Maintain engineering documentation, including DOE reports, process sheets, water diagrams, and other technical files
• .Partner with Quality to validate injection molding processes using sound statistical methods
• .Author test protocols and execute validation protocols in accordance with ISO and FDA medical device requirements
• .Lead continuous improvement projects focused on process capability, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
• .Conduct failure investigations and use structured problem-solving and statistical methods to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• .Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to setup sign-off
• .Provide technical training and coaching to peers and Process Technicians
• .Promote a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment
• .Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures
• .Perform other duties as assigned

.Required

• :High school diploma or equivalent
• .Minimum 3 years of experience with new mold sampling AND developing new processes with new molds
• .Demonstrated experience implementing decoupled molding processes and scientific molding techniques
• .Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, mold setup, mold functions, and process development
• .Knowledge of plastic resins and polymer materials
• .Ability to troubleshoot molding processes and identify root causes
• .Ability to provide specific examples of new mold sampling and process development during an interview

.Preferred

• :Secondary education related to plastics injection molding, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on molding experience
• .Experience with statistical process controls
• .Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping
• .Experience in a medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing environment
• .Knowledge of plastic product design for manufacturing (DFM) and tooling engineering
