Job summary

H.B. Fuller Company in Michigan Center is seeking a Process Engineer to drive safe, reliable adhesive manufacturing processes, improving first pass yield and reducing downtime.

You will lead root cause investigations using Lean, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methods, develop SOPs, and manage capital projects from scope through startup. A 3+ year background in chemical/ mechanical/ manufacturing engineering is required; on-site with competitive benefits and salary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma, SPC, root cause analysis, and Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Improve process safety, reliability, quality, and throughput.
  • Lead root cause investigations and process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process controls, and manufacturing standards.
  • Drive improvements in FPY, scrap reduction, cycle time, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Support new product introductions, process scale-up, and manufacturing trials.
  • Lead capital projects related to mixers, processing equipment, material handling, automation, utilities, and manufacturing capacity from scope development through startup and commissioning.
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
