Job summary

Dynamic Tool Corporation is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, validate, and optimize plastic injection molding processes on the production floor. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient production and support new product introductions.

The role requires hands-on data analysis, scientific molding principles, and the ability to reduce variation and scrap while meeting customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in plastic injection molding.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, plastics technology, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
• Experience with mold trials, product launches, and cross-functional teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support customer requirements, audits, corrective actions, and new product introduction activities.

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

The Process Engineer develops, establishes, and improves plastic injection molding processes to support safe, consistent, and efficient production. This role uses data-driven problem solving and scientific molding principles to validate processes, troubleshoot issues, reduce variation and scrap, and support successful new product introductions. The Process Engineer works closely with production, tooling, quality, maintenance, and project teams to meet customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Lead process setup, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities for new and existing programs.
• Analyze process data, cycle time, scrap, defects, and equipment performance to identify and correct sources of variation.
• Support mold trials, sampling activities, capability studies, and transfer of validated processes into production.
• Collaborate with Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, Automation, and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Create and maintain setup sheets, process documentation, work instructions, reports, and related technical records.
• Recommend improvements to tooling, equipment, materials, automation, and processing methods.
• Provide technical guidance and training to process technicians, supervisors, operators, and other team members.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

• 3+ years of related experience

Related Experience:

Three or more years of related experience in plastic injection molding process development, scientific molding, process validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Experience supporting mold trials, new product launches, and cross-functional manufacturing teams is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college Preferred educational background:
• Preferred educational background: Engineering, plastics technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.

Certifications/Tech expertise:

• RJG, Paulson, or equivalent scientific molding training preferred.
• Proficiency with process monitoring, data analysis, ERP, and production reporting tools.
• Knowledge of injection molding equipment, resins, tooling, automation, ISO standards, and quality systems.=

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong technical, analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, DOE, capability studies, and continuous improvement.
• Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with attention to safety, quality, documentation, and customer requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regular presence on the production floor. May require standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
