Job summary

Direct Wire & Cable is seeking a Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations across our Denver and Lancaster facilities. The role drives process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement in a high‑volume environment.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and CI teams to enhance workflow efficiency and equipment capability. Responsibilities include process analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and leading improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in high‑volume, high‑variability manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong reading of blueprints and schematics; knowledge of automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clear, organized documentation for processes, procedures, and standard work.
  • Design, test, and upgrade workflows, equipment processes, and manufacturing systems.
  • Own process and SOP governance across manufacturing.
  • Partner with CI leadership to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Develop and update standard operating instructions and visual management tools.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for downtime and quality issues.
  • Support start‑up, ramp‑up, and stabilization of new equipment and processes.
  • Participate in trials for new product development and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Contribute to company‑wide continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

Direct Wire & Cable is currently searching for a Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations across our Denver and Lancaster facilities. This role is essential in driving process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement in a high‑volume, fast‑paced production environment.

The Process Engineer will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and continuous improvement teams to enhance workflow efficiency, strengthen equipment capability, and improve overall product performance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our processes are safe, consistent, well‑documented, and aligned with Direct Wire’s operational goals.

Daily responsibilities include process analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, equipment support, and leading improvement initiatives. This role also partners with leadership to drive Lean manufacturing, improve process reliability, and support new product and equipment implementations.

  • Contribute to company‑wide continuous improvement efforts and Lean initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in high‑volume, high‑variability manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, production, and automation systems
  • Proficiency with MS Office, databases, statistical analysis tools, and project management software; AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and lead process‑focused initiatives
