Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Process Engineer to join our engineering department based in Kinston, NC.
The Kinston Plant Manufacturing Engineering organization ensures that plant assets and tooling are employed with the latest, up‑to‑date technology in plant operations, through an environment fully utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
The position holder is accountable for providing administrative and technical assistance around the industrial system methods and products to the Production Teams, with the aim of optimizing the industrial process, whilst observing safety, cost, quality and lead‑time criteria.
Supporting the performance and ramp‑up of Kinston plant programs through the implementation of appropriate solutions (methods, processes and organization) to meet company requirements.
The successful candidate will need to work closely with programs customers, Front Line managers and a range of ME specialists including Industrial Systems Engineers, Process Performance Engineers, Plant Industrial Architects, Lineside Support etc. Covering manufacturing technologies, work preparation and industrial maintenance. Also working with other plant functions such as Quality, Logistics and especially the Operations teams, which will provide the opportunity to gain operations experience in an industrial environment.

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state‑of‑the‑art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.
Reports to HO ME Technical Shop Floor Support (N+1) who reports to the HO ME Kinston Plant (N+2).

Job Dimensions: Administrative and Technical Support role covering Process Optimization within Manufacturing Engineering.
Nature of Contacts: Involved communication on a regular basis with internal parties only.
Onsite - Aligned with the Airbus Hybrid working policy.
Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: Able to hear daily to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation: Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: Occasionally able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs.
Lifting: Occasionally able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs / 14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: Occasionally able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: Occasionally able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: 5% able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking: Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel‑toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the production floor.
