Job summary

Kurt Die Casting, a division of Kurt Manufacturing, near Minneapolis, MN, seeks a Process Engineer to develop and document die cast processes for optimum quality and output.

The role involves assisting operations, tool design, APQP collaboration, and continual improvement to support new and existing die-casting programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 10 years of experience in set-up, operation and process development with die cast machines (prefer Buhler, Prince and Weingarten).
• Strong understanding of complex die cast tools integrated with hydraulic and electronic cylinders, slides and switches.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

The Process Engineer is responsible fordeveloping and documenting die cast processes for optimum quality and output.

Essential Functions

• Assist operations in maintaining optimum process and troubleshooting.
• Participate in tool design and cavity configuration for both new and existing programs.
• Work with other departments during APQP events to ensure smooth introduction of new and revised die castings, or to resolve equipment, process, quality, efficiency or tooling issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Compensation

The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $81,427 to $108,569. The exact salary may be determined on a combination of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

100% employee owned, Kurt Die Casting is a division of Kurt Manufacturing and located near Minneapolis, MN. Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons.
