Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Process Engineer to maintain Statistical Process Control of key products and provide engineering support to improve first pass yield and process efficiency. The role requires an energetic, detail-focused engineer who can learn from our team and contribute to cost improvement.

You will monitor production, oversee SPC activities, drive root-cause analysis, and collaborate with QA and Maintenance to ensure safe, compliant operations. Fremont, CA onsite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
  • 0-3 years experience in a relevant role.
  • Good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Team player with ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Familiarity with P&ID, basic process control and related equipment.
  • Excellent reading, writing and interpretation of instructions.
  • English proficiency required.

  • Oversee SPC activities for critical processes and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Investigate out-of-control products and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare periodic statistical reports for customers and timely submissions.
  • Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) and drive containment and prevention.
  • Support QA on customer complaints and Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
  • Write/modify Work Instructions for existing products.
  • Troubleshoot process equipment problems and coordinate changes with Maintenance.

We are looking for an energetic, committed, and detail-focused engineer who can come in and learn from our team.

  • Daily monitoring of production for quality, cycle time, EHS compliance, and consistency with documented work practices
  • Monitor processes closely and oversee SPC related activities for critical processes
  • Determine root causes for out-of-control products as well as other product failures and follow through with corrective actions
  • Prepare periodic statistical reports to customers and ensure the timely submission of such reports.
  • Manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) as assigned and ensure timely closeout of reports and drive root cause, corrective action resolution and minimize repeat common occurrence.
  • Support QA on customer complaints related to batch manufacturing processes including work on Corrective Action Request (CAR).
  • Write and modify Work Instructions for existing products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process equipment related problems.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance/Production and follow proper Management of Change protocol on equipment repairs and process changes to ensure maximum process safety
  • Function as secondary resource for Plant EHS Activities such as waste management shipment coordination, permit compliance monitoring, external and internal auditing, and EHS systems performance validation
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Production and oversee execution of equipment and instrumentation calibration program

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
