Job summary

HLBMA Battery Company is seeking a Process Engineer to help optimize productivity and sustainability of EV battery manufacturing. You will contribute to improving mass production quality and PD through recipe setting, spec alignment, and process capability management.

The role involves analyzing OEE, leading SOP development, training operators, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining 5S standards on the floor.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in production technology or related role (or equivalent)
• Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or industrial environment considered in lieu of full-time experience
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of assigned process and department
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Analyze quality issues to provide corrective actions
• Improve production processes by creating SOPs and training operators
• Ensure compliance with health/safety/environmental regulations and OSHA policies
• Maintain and optimize process documentation (PFD, PFMEA, CP)
• Conduct internal and customer audits and address non-conformances
• Support 5S/Lean activities and continuous improvement on the floor

Summary: The Process Engineer will participate in optimizing productivity and sustainability of EV battery production through high level of technical knowledge while ensuring stable mass production quality & PD improvement through recipe setting, spec aligning, process capability management, and high-quality defect improvement based on a technical understanding of the process and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of assigned process and department
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Analyze Quality issues to provide corrective actions
• Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
• Compliance with health/safety/environmental/ fire regulations
• Spec. optimization and process conditions establishment
• PFD: process flow diagram, PFMEA: process failure mode and effects analysis, CP: control plan
• Production/development model dissemination and 4M change verification
• Conducting internal and customer audits
• Non-conformance report handling and improvement
• Response to internal/external quality issues for the customer
• Establishment and revision of PFD, PF Manual
• Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 1+ years of experience in production technology related job or equivalent, relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours:

• Lift, push, and pull materials or equipment
• Stoop, twist, and bend
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems
• Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals.
• Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment.
• Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory.
• Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas.
• Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment.
