Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Process Engineer drives efficiency and innovation across Nucor Raw Materials Group's 17 Automobile Shredders and 10 Metal Recovery Plants, identifying process, equipment, and technology improvements while staying ahead of industry trends. The role works closely with Advanced Technologies, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, and integrates directly with Nucor's steel mills to align recycled material output with mill requirements, develop new material uses, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure new processes meet quality standards. Beyond hands‑on plant support, the role designs and supervises tests, tracks performance metrics, and maintains documentation to continuously improve plant operations.Travel for this role ranges from 30-40%
