Job summary

Shaw Industries in Chattanooga, TN seeks a hands-on Process Engineer to lead improvements on a state-of-the-art vinyl flooring line. You will troubleshoot complex manufacturing challenges, support automation initiatives, and drive safety, quality and productivity on the plant floor.

Ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in engineering, excels in root-cause analysis, project management, data interpretation, and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, R&D and corporate engineering.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and process-related issues using root cause analysis.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase reliability.
• Support automation, robotics, CNC programming, and equipment upgrade projects.
• Manage capital and expense projects from concept through implementation.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, and Corporate Engineering to evaluate new technologies and process enhancements.
• Analyze production and financial data to drive performance improvements and cost savings.
• Develop work instructions, training materials, and standardized processes.
• Present results and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.

We're seeking a hands-on engineer to support one of the most technologically advanced vinyl flooring production lines in the company. This high-visibility role is responsible for leading process improvements, troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges, supporting automation initiatives, and driving operational excellence across the plant. What You'll Do
