Job summary

Kelly Engineering is seeking a skilled Process Engineer in Georgetown, SC to join a leading chemical manufacturing client. The role focuses on chemical process optimization, data analysis, and SPC/SQC methods to drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a chemical engineering degree and several years of experience with production processes, investigations, and process enhancements within a manufacturing setting in the chemical industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of Process/Chemical Engineering experience
• Strong knowledge/experience in Data Analysis, SPC, SQC.
• Experience with Failure Analysis and Corrective/Preventative action preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve performance of Production Processes related to the Production Unit (Up to 4 Production Processes).
• Interpret, be taught, and quickly learn Reaction Chemistry. All Production Processes start with some sort of Reaction Chemistry.
• Identify production related issues and generate appropriate continuous improvements. Collect, interpret, analyze, and correlate data for troubleshooting with productivity issues, quality issues, equipment issues, etc. Define and implement the necessary improvements based findings.
• Conduct an Investigation (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)
• Manage Process Improvement Projects.
• Correlate Final Product Quality to Production Processing Data
• Track Production Yields and Perform Mass Balances.
• Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools.
• Collaborate with various departments / stakeholders (Quality, Production Operators/Supervisors, Management, Warehouse, Maintenance, Sales, etc)

Kelly Engineering is seeking a DIRECT HIRE - Process Engineer (Chemical Engineer) to join one of our leading clients in the Chemical Manufacturing industry at their Georgetown, SC location.

NOTE: This role will be in Georgetown, SC.

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of Process/Chemical Engineering experience

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering
• 3+ Years Manufacturing Experience in an Engineering Role
• 3+ Years Experience of root cause problem solving
• Experience with MOC/CAPA process.
• Ability to conduct Investigations (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)
• Ability to be taught and quickly learn common Unit Operations used in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.
• ISO9001 / EFfCI / GMP Production Experience Preferred

Preferred Education and Experience

• Statistical Process Control (SPC)/ Statistical Quality Control (SQC)
• Experience with chemical reactions, vacuum dryers, and powder handling/packaging operations.
• Working experience and/or knowledge of the following Reaction Chemistries:
• Batch Polymerizations / Oligomerization Reactions (Bulk, Emulsion, Free-Radical, Nucleophilic Substitution). Esterification and Trans-Esterification Hydrolysis Reactions
