Job summary

CMC, a Fortu­ne 500 company in the steel and construction reinforcement sector, seeks a seasoned professional to lead manufacturing process improvements. Expect to support diverse operations—from offices to cranes and manufacturing equipment—and take part in training and advancement opportunities.

You will identify and implement improvements, analyze performance data, and collaborate across maintenance and engineering on capital projects to enhance safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading manufacturing process improvements.
  • Lean manufacturing/5S experience required.
  • Polymer extrusion experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities where applicable.
  • Drive process improvements based on performance analysis and lessons learned.
  • Provide technical support regarding plant equipment, process efficiency, and plant wide safety.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Develop solutions and improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for process stabilization and improvement in all shop areas.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering on capital projects and commissioning of new equipment.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need


  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading and driving manufacturing process improvements. Heavy industry experience a plus.

  • Experience in Polymer extrusion, plastic additives, polymer testing, R&D experimentation and analysis is a plus

  • Prior experience in successful implementation of lean manufacturing/5S and productivity improvement initiatives is required

  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with teams and different departments

  • Ability to track, chart, and improve processes

  • Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals

  • Able to communicate, verbally and written, with operators, supervisors, maintenance, suppliers, management, and plant support staff

  • Able to prioritize, plan and drive issues, tasks, and deliverables from concept to closure


Your Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

  • A degree in Science or Engineering (Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical) is strongly preferred
